Learn about the human body in a fun and immersive way

Learning about the human body is a complex task

The interactive mirror will enhance the learning experience of anatomy in an attractive and entertaining way. The interaction and personalization in the concept will make students more motivated and present during the activity, which will lead to a stronger learning outcome.

Concept

Kinect

When standing in front of the mirror the the user’s silhouette and body movements are recognised with the use of the Kinect technology

Interactive Mirror

The image on the mirror visualizes different layers of the human body’s inner parts. The elements are personalized based on the user’s standing in front of it and they follow in real-time one’s movements.

Menu

On each side of the mirror two menu buttons are presented. The one on the right visualizes how different activities affects the human body. The one on the left enables the exploration of the different body systems.

Marker

A marker on the floor indicates where the user should stand.

Interaction

The user can interact with the menu by using natural hand gestures. By holding the hand over an item for a few seconds the item is selected. The position of the menu is adjusted to the user’s height to make it ergonomically reachable for everyone.

Animation

By using animations to visualize how different activities affect the human body, the aim is to make the learning experience more interesting and dynamic. The animations are shown as movies and they highlight the organs mainly involved in the activity selected.

Demo

Attractive. Personalized. Entertaining
