The GREAT BALL OF FIRE utilises dance, music and beat to motivate the user to move and have fun while excerising.
This project is a part of the course Project in Interaction Design at Chalmers.
The theme for the 2022 project is movement and to show how interaction design can play a role in making people move. Our aim is therfore to crete a new product that will encourage movement.
When the player has pressed play the music will start and before every new beat the device shows in which direction the player should move. The instructions are given with led-lights in different colours divided into four sections. Each colour stands for a direction (up, down, left, right). The player should be moving in the instructed directions to the beat throughout the song.
Research shows people need to move and exercise more for their health and what better way than through dance? With this product, excercise becomes more social and personalised. The hope is that the users will be unaware of the actual excerise aspect and make it feel more like play than something they have to do.
The goal of this process is to motivate users to everyday excerise by creating a fun and available screenless product that can be used anywhere.
